We are looking for mentors - people with the capacity to make a long-term commitment of investing in people. Do you have an hour to spare throughout your week to be a friend to someone, letting them know they are valued, cared for, and capable of achieving great things?
What does a mentor do?
A mentor will spend time building relationships with people and simply be their friend. They will be a sounding board, an encourager, a helper, a partner that can help them problem solve, and someone that can help point them to the right people when extra help is needed.
How much time does it take?
We ask that mentors commit to an hour a week. Just showing up, being present, and building relationships.
A mentor is not....
A case manager
A counselor or therapist
A doctor
A fixer
Mentors must be healthy and stable individuals (12 months or more of sobriety) who can help encourage people to keep moving forward. We can't lead people where we haven't been ourselves.
Mentors will be supported by our team who will provide the necessary support and coaching to ensure everyone gets the right kind of help.
