Family Shelters

Agape Village has a network of emergency, overnight family shelters to provide a safe night of sleep and a stable place to stay while waiting for placement into other transitional programs or housing.  Each shelter provides a private room, or space, for each family.  Shelter access is referral only.  If you have questions or are in need of shelter please call 503-760-6272.

Shelter hours: 8pm-8am

 

During the day families are invited to our family day center where they will receive case management and other resources to help them find stability and achieve their goals. 

None of our sites are listed out of concern for the safety and privacy of our guests.

In addition to our emergency overnight shelters we also have a 24/7, emergency (short-term) family shelter that can host one family at a time called The Lighthouse.

The Problem

  • Families are waiting up to 6 months in unstable situations (cars, rv's, hotels, etc...) to get into more stable programs.

  • Over 1200 homeless children in Portland Public School (24-25 school year)

    • 157 Unaccompied youth

    • 22 Unsheltered  

  • Agape adult overnight shelters in 70 nights of shelter hosted:

    • 14 children​

    • For a combined 72 shelter nights

The Plan

Nightly Shelter

Provide a place for families to safely sleep in one of our overnight family shelters.  (4 shelters, 85 people/20families)

Day Center

Open a day center that gives families a place to go during the day to receive the support they need to find stability.

Volunteer

Help with shelter set-up, clean-up, hosting, and even some manual labor.  To sign-up go here.

Donate

We need to raise $750,000 to fully fund our day center.  Every dollar counts!  Give here.

We also need supplies - kids' clothes, diapers, hygiene products, and more.
